Sampling Ladles
Small ladles used to take analysis samples from the molten metal bath.
Sampling ladles are small ladles used to take molten metal samples from the furnace or ladle for chemical and thermal analysis. Their long handles let the operator take the sample at a safe distance from the hot bath.
The sample should be taken from a representative point of the bath after skimming the slag. A dry, clean ladle surface prevents moisture-related splashing and contamination of the sample; preheating before use is recommended.
Size and handle length are supplied on request. A face shield, gloves and heat-resistant protective clothing should be worn when sampling.
