Quick Cup Sample Analysis Cup
Thermal analysis cup used to estimate CE, C and Si of cast iron from its cooling curve.
A quick cup is a disposable thermal analysis cup used to record the cooling curve of a molten cast iron sample as it solidifies. The thermocouple in the cup measures liquidus and solidification temperatures, and the instrument estimates carbon equivalent (CE), carbon (C) and silicon (Si) content from these values.
The method gives information on bath composition within seconds without waiting for spectrometer results, which speeds up correction additions in the furnace. It is used for charge and inoculation control in grey and ductile iron melting.
For an accurate result, sample temperature, filling time and cup type must follow the instrument instructions. Cup type (grey or ductile iron) and instrument compatibility are shared on request. Cups should be stored in a dry area.
