Resin Sand Release Agent
Release agent applied to resin sand pattern and core box surfaces to prevent sand sticking.
Resin sand release agent is applied to pattern and core box surfaces in sand systems bonded with furan, phenolic and similar resins. Since resin sand tends to stick to the pattern as it hardens, the agent enables clean stripping.
The agent is applied as a thin, even layer. Excess can cause surface deterioration and curing problems in the sand, while too little can cause sticking and mould damage. A short waiting time after application may be required.
A type suitable for the pattern material (wood, metal, plastic) and the binder system should be selected. Compatibility should be tested beforehand, especially with acid-cured systems.
