Alcohol and Water Based Graphite Coating
Graphite-filled refractory coating that protects mould and core surfaces in grey and ductile iron casting.
Graphite coating is a thin refractory layer applied to the sand surface with graphite as the main filler. Graphite is not easily wetted by molten metal, which reduces metal penetration and burn-on and gives a smoother casting surface.
Alcohol-based types are dried quickly by ignition after application. Water-based types are advantageous for environment and safety but need oven or forced drying. It is widely used in grey and ductile iron.
Coating density (Baume) and application method (dipping, spraying, brushing) matter for quality. It should be mixed thoroughly before use and dried completely. You can consult us for the right choice according to the metal poured and the mould type.
