Ladle repair materials are refractory mixes used to refill worn, cracked or eroded areas of a ladle lining. They help extend lining life without a full relining and shorten downtime.
The product is chosen according to the ladle lining type, the metal poured and the slag character. The application method (trowel, cast or spray) and dry-out schedule vary by product, and the instructions should be followed.
The surface to be repaired should be clean and free of loose fragments. Because fast heating can cause damage through steam pressure, drying should be gradual. To select the right product, the ladle type and metal should be shared.
